Fujifilm X100VI in Stockholm

So I got the Fujifilm X100VI delivered one day, and I didn’t feel like walking around Oslo and taking pictures. Since I was already on a short vacation, I decided to visit Stockholm with my family for the first time.

This is an upgraded X100V, which I didn’t really like that much (you can read about that here), so I thought I’d see what has changed with this model.

Key Differences:

  • Sensor: X100VI has a new 40.2 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor.
  • ISO Range: Native ISO starts at 125 for X100VI, whereas it’s 160 for X100V.
  • Continuous Shooting: X100VI supports faster shooting speeds.
  • Video Resolution: X100VI introduces 6.2K video recording.
  • Weight: X100VI is slightly heavier due to additional features like in-body image stabilization.

I still think this camera looks really good. It has a nice weight and it’s easy to take it and go out. This is very important. These days, this is my number one requirement for a camera.

I’ve used the OVF for 90% of my shots. The X100V/VI has hands down the best tilting screen which sits flush with the camera body. This is very nice, and it’s easy to use. Thank God it has a tilt and not a flip screen, as it makes it much, much easier to take photos this way. Although for people doing video, it’s the other way around. Thankfully, there are many other and better options if video is your priority.

I don’t want to write too much here as this camera is basically the same as the last one, with an upgraded sensor and IBIS. I could not care less about the 40mpx sensor, but I am really, really glad Fujifilm has managed to put in-body image stabilization in this model. This camera now basically has everything! Unfortunately, there are many areas that could and should be improved, but we are not here to complain, but to take photos.

Below, you will find photos taken during our 3-day visit to Stockholm. All photos are edited with my Lightroom presets, as I don’t have the patience to set up Fujifilm profiles/recipes. I have done that before, but I never really liked the SOOC output. Don’t get me wrong, the colors are nice and most of the time you can get around editing photos at a later stage, but the quality of those JPEGs never really impressed me. I have always thought that some amount of quality is lost when recipes are used. But, it could be me not using the correct ones or expecting too much.

Either way, I hope you will like Stockholm as much as we did.

Thanks for the read!
